TRAINING OF PRP - FACILTIES AND PRECEPTORS
Premises which are already listed as a Liberasation Training Facility ( or Fasiliti Latihan Liberasasi - FLL) for PRP can apply to increase the number of Preceptors from time to time according to a schedule set by the Pharmacy Board depending on the requests. It is compulsory for the proposed Preceptor to attend a Training of Preceptor workshop
The Preceptor to PRP ratio is 1:2

If a premise already has a FRP that is already certified to be a Preceptor, the training of PRP can start after the premise is listed in the FLL list for PRP. The application form and supportive documents to list the premise should also be submitted to the Secretary of the Pharmacy Board.

Meanwhile the Pharmaceutical Services Division has come up with an updated list of approved Klinik Kesihatan for PRP training for the Outpatient Component
BLESS - APPLICATION FOR ANNUAL CERTIFICATE 2017 - PENALTY WAIVED FOR "LATE" APPLICANT, AND 2018 APPLICATION
As at the end of 2016, there are some pharmacists who had difficulty to apply for their Annual Certificate 2017 due to the some technicalities setback of the BLESS system. It would seem that if you have proof in black and white that you have tried to apply before 31st Dec either in form of a complaint email or payment receipt, the penalty of late application will be waived. You will need to submit these documents to the Pharmacy Board. More information will be forthcoming once available.
You may also start to apply for your 2018 Annual Certificate with effect from 1st Jan 2017. CPD points accumulated for 2016 can be used for this application.
However please note that the BLESS website has announced that there will be a "closure of electrical power supply" from 6pm on 6th Jan 2017 to 7am on 9th Jan 2017. During this period BLESS system will be unavailable.
COMMONWEALTH SCIENCE CONFERENCE SINGAPORE: 13-16 JUNE 2017 - VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED
The conference, co-organised by the Royal Society in partnership with the National Research Foundation Singapore (NRF) objectives is to celebrate excellence in science throughout the Commonwealth; to provide opportunities for cooperation between researchers in different Commonwealth countries; to inspire young scientists, students and pupils; to build understanding about policy issues of common interest; and to encourage scientific capacity building in Commonwealth countries.
It is anticipated that around 400 scientists from across the Commonwealth will attend. The meeting will be multidisciplinary, spanning physical sciences, life sciences, engineering, and science policy. The programme will include plenary lectures by eminent Commonwealth scientists; parallel sessions on emerging infectious diseases, the future of the oceans, sustainable cities and low carbon energy; and panel discussions on science policy.
The President of the Commonwealth Science Conference 2017 is the President of the Royal Society, Sir Venki Ramakrishnan FRS, who will speak at the opening ceremony. Confirmed plenary speakers include Professor Nam Hai Chua FRS, Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory, Dr Bernie Fanaroff, Square Kilometre Array, Professor Terrence Forrester, University of the West Indies, Professor Jenny Graves, La Trobe University, Professor CNR Rao FRS, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Professor Janet Rossant FRS, University of Toronto and Sir David Spiegelhalter OBE FRS, University of Cambridge.
To achieve the conference's aim of inspiring pupils with science, the Society has been working with the British Council and the Commonwealth Secretariat to produce resource packs, on topics linked to the conference, for young people aged 7-14. The Society is looking for delegates to volunteer to mentor groups of schools who are now undertaking an investigative project in one of these areas.
