STUDY ON THE IMPACT OF THE NEW REGULATION ON THE RECORDING OF PSEUDOEPHEDRINE-CONTAINING PRODUCTS (PCPs) BY COMMUNITY PHARMACIES
With the introduction of recording of pseudoephedrine-containing products (PCPs) on 1st Jan 2011 by the Pharmaceutical Division, MOH, the community pharmacists are required to make an entry of every sales of PCPs ONCE in a separate record book for products containing the 5 ingredients – Codeine, Pholcodeine, Dextromethorphan, Ephedrine and Pseudoephedrine, while the entry to the usual Poison C record book is now exempted .
The Malaysian Pharmceutical Society (MPS) has received numerous response form community pharmacists regarding this new recording of PCPs. Therefore, MPS is taking the initiative to conduct this impact study to gather and document feedback and suggestions from community pharmacists concerning this measure of trying to curb misuse of PCPs.
As such, please fill in the questionnaire and return by fax or on-line to MPS by 6th March 2011.
Thank you for your cooperation and concern.
