General Information

Badges

The participant s name badge will be provided at the registration desk.All participants and accompanying persons are kindly requested to wear their badges throughout the Congress.Participants with white badges will be admitted to the sessions.Accompanying persons (pink badges) may attend the opening ceremony,social events and tours but will not be allowed to attend sessions. Badges for the PAC Sessions on Saturday and Sunday are yellow and day cards are green and blue.Participants will be
allowed in the Exhibit and Poster areas but not in the FIP sessions.

Cheques

All leading banks in Sydney accept traveller s cheques. Personal or company cheques will not be accepted at the FIP registration desk or in shops. 

Climate

Sunshine,blue sky and usually between 18-20 degrees. However,please do not forget to bring an umbrella. 

Credit cards

Commonly accepted credit cards in hotels,shops and at the FIP registration desk at the Congress venue include: American Express,Diners Club,Visa and Master Card/Eurocard.

Currency

The currency used in Sydney is the Australian Dollar.

Dress

Informal dress is acceptable for all sessions but business attire is recommended for the Opening Ceremony. For the Gala dinner and the PAC dinner we advise evening dress.

Exhibition

The Australian Host Committee is the official organiser of the international exhibition at which delegates can review the latest achievements in new equipment,techniques and products. The exhibition gives companies the opportunity to promote their products and services and to meet with community and
hospital pharmacists,pharmacy educators,students and senior officials of national and international organisations and governments,all of whom play an important role in the decision to acquire products and services related to the profession. Insurance

The FIP Organising Committee and the Australian Host Committee accept no liability for personal injuries sustained, or for loss of or damage to property belonging to Congress participants and/or accompanying persons,incurred either during or as a result of the Congress.We recommend that each participant takes out personal insurance. 

Language

The official congress language is English. Simultaneous translation from and into English, French, German and Spanish will be available during the Council meetings. During the Opening ceremony and selected symposia, simultaneous translation will be available from English into French, German, Spanish and Japanese.

Press room

The Congress Press room offers a number of services for professional press observers.They will have access to written press material (press releases,speakers manuscripts,etc.), and will have access to working facilities and a chance to socialise with their colleagues.There will also be a series of media briefings highlighting prominent topics. 

Slide preview room

Slides,powerpoint presentations and overheads may be tested before presentations in the slide preview room.In the case of slides,cassettes marked with your name should be handed over to staff in the meeting room prior to your lecture.

Technical equipment in session rooms 

All session rooms will have LCD/slide/overhead projectors. There will be a technician available in the meeting room. Presenters need to bring their own laptop.
